Supporting Those Who Create an Accessible World

One of InviOcean’s key goals is to support those who create accessible digital solutions. We believe that such initiatives shape a new, more open internet where there is room for everyone. It often seems that great resources and large teams are required to begin, but practice shows: sometimes even a small amount of support is enough for a project to start and change the lives of hundreds of people.

BlindSlash: How a Mod Became a Window Into the Game World

About a year ago, we met Julian — the developer of BlindSlash, a modification for World of Warcraft. His goal was simple yet incredibly meaningful: to make the popular MMORPG accessible for people with visual impairments.

BlindSlash is the best accessibility tool in World of Warcraft: it enables basic interaction, voices interface elements, and helps blind players navigate the game world. Thanks to this, many users for the first time experienced the joy of fully participating in WoW. Detailed installation and usage instructions are still in demand within our community.

In August, we renewed our collaboration with Julian by supporting him through small donations. Julian continues to work on the add-on independently, but we are glad to see that when support is close at hand, a project gains extra momentum for growth.

His contribution is hard to overestimate: BlindSlash has become an example of how one person can change the experience of hundreds of players. We believe that such initiatives deserve attention and support, because they are exactly what build a fairer and more accessible gaming environment.

From Enthusiasts to Systemic Support

Today InviOcean is a small team of enthusiasts. We do not have a complex organizational structure, but we do have the desire and determination to make the digital world more accessible. For now, we are moving in small steps — consulting, providing resources, sharing experience and information.

In the future, we want to turn this support into a systemic process:

  • A grant system for independent developers — funding ideas at an early stage so they can grow and benefit the community.
  • A system for supporting talents and volunteers — bringing together people willing to share knowledge, experience, and time to create accessible digital solutions.
  • Hired teams that will be able to create applications, services, and full-fledged games for blind and visually impaired users.

We are confident: when support becomes permanent, ideas turn into ready-made solutions, and small initiatives gain a second life. And it is important to note that all of this is already possible thanks to the donations of individuals — for their contribution we say a huge thank you. Their help accelerates the development of projects and inspires us to move forward.

Openness and Community

We are actively looking for talents and enthusiasts — developers, designers, researchers, and volunteers ready to join in creating applications, services, games, and educational materials for blind and visually impaired users. Your ideas and skills will help accelerate project development and make the digital environment more accessible for everyone.

If you would like to tell us about yourself or propose your project, join our Discord or write to us at support@inviocean.com. There you can get advice, find support, and meet people who care about accessibility.

We invite not only developers but also users to take part in the dialogue: the experience of those who face barriers every day is invaluable.

Sharing the Best Accessibility Solutions

One of the important parts of our work is to show people the most useful resources and projects, even if they were not created by our team. We try to support these initiatives, share them with the community, redirect users, and help them find solutions that truly improve the digital experience for people with visual impairments. For us, authorship is not the point — what matters is that every idea and every project brings real benefit and becomes part of a larger, mutually supportive ecosystem.

To make this easier and clearer, we create thematic catalogs — collections of accessible games, applications, educational materials, and services. They help people quickly find solutions that really work, and help developers and initiative authors gain the attention and support their projects deserve. In this way, we bring users and creators together, building a convenient tool for sharing knowledge and opening new possibilities.
