Purpose of the activity: Application on the theme “Summer Time.”

Objective: Creating an application using the “Paper Plastic” technique.

Materials needed: cardboard, colored paper, glue.

Summer is a magical time of relaxation and vacation. With the help of paper and cardboard, you can create a magical picture that will lift your mood all year round. Additionally, making an application from paper balls is a great way to develop children’s finger dexterity. While working, children learn to coordinate movements and combine parts of a picture into a whole. In creative activities, little ones use paper to create various forms by tearing, cutting, and ripping. Tear-off applications are especially beneficial for children with vision impairments as they help develop fine motor skills. This technique is one of the simplest, most accessible, and interesting types of applications.

Crumpled Paper Application

Tear-off applications are highly beneficial for developing fine motor skills and creative thinking. This technique is particularly suitable for portraying textured images, such as a fluffy kitten. Children tear paper into pieces and assemble them into an image by applying glue to each piece; using a glue stick is recommended. This application technique does not require scissors, making it perfect for very young children as there is no contact with sharp objects. To prepare, it is helpful to pre-select an image in the form of a coloring page or draw an outline of a picture. Old coloring books can be used for templates. Children then fill in the outline with small pieces of paper, selecting the appropriate colors. The small pieces give the application a three-dimensional effect. Pieces are glued as closely as possible to one another. During the craft process, the elements of the application should not extend beyond the picture’s contours. It’s best to work with pre-made templates to ensure the image looks sharp. For young children, choose large images without small details.

All the fingers of both hands are involved in this process. Muscles in the hands are exercised, and the precision of finger movements is developed. Training the fine movements of the fingers stimulates brain development in children. Creating a craft using tear-off application is similar to assembling a puzzle, which aids in developing attention and spatial thinking. Forming a picture from small pieces of paper teaches children a valuable skill—patience.

Children love working with paper because of its accessibility and ease of manipulation. They learn to handle paper and explore various application techniques. Kids enjoy creating original crafts from torn pieces of different shapes. They quickly master the tear-off application technique, tearing and ripping paper pieces to create beautiful pictures. Tear-off applications help children develop design skills as the forms change. Paper construction stimulates thinking, teaches analysis, and fosters creativity.

The crumpling technique is one of the most accessible when working with paper. A child changes the shape of a sheet. Crumpled paper balls in children’s hands turn into apples, flowers, or tomatoes. We teach the child to crumple the paper with their fingers, starting with soft paper. Young children work with their thumbs and forefingers. After mastering crumpling soft paper, they can move on to thicker sheets.

Application is one of the children’s favorite activities.
