The Seeing Eye GPS is an accessible, turn-by-turn GPS app for iPhone that includes all standard navigation features plus unique functions specifically designed for blind users.

Features of The Seeing Eye GPS:

Three key navigation elements—Route, POI (Points of Interest), and Location—are always accessible at the bottom of every screen.

Intersecting streets and their orientation are announced at intersections.

Intersections are described (e.g., “four-way”) using clock-face orientation (such as “street at 3 o’clock”).

Option to select data sources for POIs: Apple, Foursquare, and OSM.

Routes are adapted for pedestrians and drivers, including voice prompts like “turn approaching,” “turn now,” “go straight,” and “upcoming turn.”

The app automatically recalculates the route and announces updated directions when the user deviates from the planned path.

LookAround Wand feature lets users point the phone in any direction and hear what is nearby.

The app automatically announces nearby points of interest, intersections, and changes in travel direction.
