ColoredEye is a mobile app designed to assist people with impaired color perception or complete color blindness. It enables real-time color identification using the device’s camera or from photos, announcing the color name through a screen reader. The app is especially useful for blind and visually impaired users, as well as those with color blindness.
ColoredEye supports multiple recognition modes: from simple basic colors (e.g., “blue,” “green,” “yellow”) to extended palettes with more precise shades (e.g., “smoky gray,” “dark purple,” “sand”). Depending on the selected mode, the app provides either brief or more detailed color descriptions.
The app is fully compatible with VoiceOver and offers spoken feedback when the camera is pointed at an object. It requires no internet connection and is intended for everyday use—such as choosing clothes, navigating by package colors, or identifying the color of objects and surfaces.
