Slots & Daggers is an unusual hybrid: a classic fantasy action game built on slot-machine mechanics with roguelike RPG elements. The story unfolds in a dark yet humorous world inhabited by bizarre creatures, hardened warriors, and grotesque bosses. At the end of your adventure, you will face the ultimate trial — a battle against Lord Slotter, a villain whose power and personality define the tone of the entire game. Each location has its own atmosphere and enemy types, from deserts to sewers, where new challenges await you.

At the core of the gameplay is combat based on controlling the spin of three reels. The symbols correspond to actions (attacks, blocks, potions, magic). For example, a combination of “two daggers and a shield” gives you two attacks and a defensive action, while landing three identical symbols triggers a critical move. Note that certain spells and abilities require a reaction check in a small rhythm-based mini-game, where their effectiveness depends on the timing of your button press. Items can be used between turns, but each has a usage cost, making resource management essential.

Slots & Daggers stands out for its accessible combat logic, clear sound feedback, and energetic music. The controls are extremely simple: one main button plus arrow keys, which keeps interaction straightforward. Some interface elements — especially shops — are not particularly convenient, but the core combat system remains clear and rhythmic: every combination becomes a small decision-making moment.

The game maintains a continuous pace: transitions between fights happen automatically until you clear the current area. After that, you unlock the option to start a new run from the furthest area you’ve reached. Gold, new equipment, skills, and upgrades appear frequently. A key progression feature: upon death, you receive tokens that allow you to strengthen your hero and unlock new starting gear — ensuring a sense of growth even after failed attempts.

Slots & Daggers is a compact, dynamic adventure where chance, strategy, and rhythm elements intertwine, making every battle both a challenge and a delight.

Installing the Accessibility Mod

First, download MelonLoader and run the installer. In the window that appears, select the game from the list or manually point to its executable file if it does not appear automatically. You can switch between items in the list using the Tab key. Before installing, make sure to enable the “use nightly build” option.

Next, download the accessibility mod archive. Place the NVDA and TOLK files from the archive into the game’s root folder, and place the SlotsAndDaggersAccessibilityMod file into the Mods directory, which will be created automatically inside the same folder. After that, you can launch the game and use all accessibility features.

Controls

Navigation is performed using the arrow keys. Enter and Space confirm actions and stop the slot-machine reels. E provides information about the enemy’s current state, and P displays your character’s parameters: health, defense level, and available coins.
