You find yourself in the distant future — roughly six and a half centuries from today. On the edge of the explored Galaxy lies a world known by the code Hermes 571-G, though its inhabitants call it simply Core. It is a harsh colony where corporations build their mines, and humans along with other intelligent species work, fight, and survive amid the roar of machinery and the grinding of extractors. There is no place here for knights or magic. Only oxygen, credits, and iron will.
On Core, you choose your own path. The choice is yours: become a miner and manage an entire network of extraction domes; embrace the danger of combat missions, where credits come through mercenary work and victories in battle; or master the role of a technician — an expert in machinery and electronic systems without whom this world would have long since fallen into darkness. You can also combine specializations, shaping your own unique style of survival and profit.
Nine races await you — from resilient xeno miners to swift and cunning traders, or brilliant cyber-technicians. Each race has its strengths and weaknesses, its traditions, and its own view of life in the colony. The world of Core is not merely a backdrop; it is a living system where economy, technology, and social relations are tightly intertwined. Here you can start a business, trade, build, expand your transport and housing, forge alliances, and compete for influence.
Core MUD is not a journey to save the world, but a test of your ability to survive, grow, and achieve your goals in a cold, indifferent universe. Every step, every deal, every victory comes at a price. And only you decide whether Core becomes your home… or your final stop.
