Alter Ego is a text-based life simulation where every decision and every thought becomes a building block of your destiny. The game lets you experience the full arc of human existence — from a baby’s first memories to the final reflections of old age. There is no predefined storyline here, only a chain of choices that gradually shape your character, habits, relationships, and social environment.
All mechanics revolve around interactive situations. You are presented with short life episodes in which you choose how to act. Some decisions strengthen your confidence, while others alter emotional and social aspects of your personality. These hidden attributes unlock or block future paths, allowing each playthrough to form a unique biography.
The game does not shy away from serious themes: personal growth, moral dilemmas, unpredictable turns of fate, risky choices, and long-term consequences that may follow you throughout your virtual life. Ultimately, the goal is simple and deeply human — to live your story in the way you believe is right and see where your decisions lead.
Since the entire experience is presented as an interactive text-based book, Alter Ego is fully accessible for blind players and can be played with VoiceOver. Thanks to its high variability and nonlinearity, each playthrough becomes a new attempt to understand who your alter ego might become in a world of endless possibilities.
Alter Ego is not just a game, but an interactive exploration of human nature, where you create a destiny by following the voice of your inner choices.
Note: The accessibility rating of Alter Ego is based solely on testing of the iOS version. At present, the Android version is completely inaccessible with TalkBack, and the PC (Steam) version was not evaluated during testing.
