Accessibility in Siralim Ultimate

Accessibility in Siralim Ultimate is provided through a special mod that adapts the interface and game mechanics for blind players.

Main elements—like menus, objects on the map and in the castle – are voiced, including dialogues and labels, as well as various sound effects.

Interaction with the interface has limitations: detailed descriptions of creatures, upgrades, spells, reputation, and resources are not voiced, requiring optical character recognition (OCR) tools.

The mod lets you hear basic creature info at summoning, but does not voice health or status data for party members during battle. You can follow combat via the event log, which you need to process using OCR. Hero class descriptions at character creation and quest details are also unavailable without OCR.

Many players choose alternatives to OCR, such as NVDA CloudVision, for more accurate recognition results.

It’s important to note that the mod’s development has been abandoned for some time, so its compatibility with every future game update is uncertain. Nevertheless, this approach makes Siralim Ultimate accessible for blind users, though it does require a bit of preparation and adjustment.

Installing the Mod

• Unzip the mod to any folder and run SiralimAccess-windows-0.15.0.
• After the installation completes, move the Eight-Bit-Dragon2 file to the game folder, confirming the overwrite.
• Launch the game, activate the mod, then return to the game window. Use E instead of Enter and Q instead of Escape.
• To enable all mod functions, start a new game, complete the intro section and tutorial battle.
• Exit the game and move config.sav to the folder: %localappdata%\SiralimUltimate\save\

Optional:

• To pass through walls, replace the data.win file in the game folder.
• For enhanced music, replace the siralim ultimate music mod folder.
  All replacement files are included in the archive.

Important: the mod will not work if color filters are enabled.

Hotkeys

Mod-specific:

• C: Copy current info to the clipboard.
• O: Voice information, including the active quest.
• V: Voice full information.

Game controls:

• W, A, S, D or arrow keys: Movement.
• E: Confirm.
• Q: Cancel action or open the menu.
