The Banner Saga

In the grim world of The Banner Saga, humans and the giant race of Varl unite against an ancient foe — the mysterious Dredge, bent on destroying all life. The narrative unfolds through two parallel stories: hunter Rook protects his daughter and clan, while Hakon, leader of the Varl, leads his people in search of salvation. You’ll make difficult moral choices where each mistake can lead to tragic consequences. The turn-based combat on a grid requires well-thought-out tactics and a deep understanding of the heroes’ abilities. Managing a caravan with dwindling resources forces you to carefully monitor provisions, morale, health, and the number of fighters, making difficult and sometimes risky decisions. The constant threat of survival makes every battle and choice momentous. The Banner Saga is an epic tale of struggle, sacrifice, and inevitable loss in a harsh world.

The accessibility mod is still in early stages but allows for a relatively comfortable playthrough of the first part of the game. The mod currently works only with a gamepad, though a gamepad emulator can be used.
