Our Mission
We are building a world you can enter by sound.
InviOcean is a digital space designed for blind and visually impaired people — a place where audio becomes the architecture of experience.
Through games, interactive stories, and inclusive technologies, we help people learn, grow, and connect with others and the world.
Our mission is to create an accessible, empowering, and human-centered digital environment where exploration, education, and opportunity are open to all.
We believe that learning should be joyful, that skills should be recognized, and that employment and self-expression should never depend on sight.
Why This Matters
- About 1.1 to 1.2 billion people worldwide have vision impairments that affect their daily lives without correction.
- Today, only 43% of students with visual impairments use the internet regularly — compared to 95% of their sighted peers.
- An estimated 40% of those who need assistive technologies don’t have access to them.
- And while nearly 40% of the global population plays games, millions of blind and visually impaired people are still excluded — not because they can’t play, but because the systems weren’t built with them in mind.
Our Manifesto
InviOcean is built on the principles of an open society, where any enthusiast who wishes to support the community’s mission can join and find meaningful ways to contribute.
We want all blind and visually impaired people to have full access to the vast world of modern communication technologies, the internet, and digital entertainment, becoming active participants in society with bright careers and lives rich with opportunities.
We support blind and visually impaired people in:
- Learning to use modern devices and interfaces
- Developing new skills, including languages and programming
- Building friendships and online communities
- Playing games for joy, motivation, and social connection
- Finding work and building meaningful careers in a digital world
What We Are Building
- An inclusive gaming community
- A searchable catalog of accessible digital resources:
- Games, Communities, Gadgets, Software, Educational Courses
- Wizard-like guided learning modules
- A platform for career orientation and job search
- A browser plugin and mobile application
- A grant program for emerging talents
- A global partner support network
Why Games Matter
Games are often the first step into the digital world.
They teach trust, initiative, communication, and confidence.
A well-designed game can help blind users:
- Form communication habits
- Explore safe risk-taking
- Develop foundational digital and professional skills
All through play — in a space built for them.
Who Is It For?
Primarily: blind and visually impaired users of all ages.
But also:
Friends, family, teachers, and volunteers helping someone discover technology
People looking to make the digital world more inclusive
We create tools so anyone — regardless of experience — can help someone else begin.
Why Is English a Priority?
Because English is a key to global access:
- To the latest games and software
- To international educational resources
- To remote jobs and global communities
That’s why English is built into our learning paths. But it’s just the beginning.
What About Other Languages?
As more volunteers and partners join, we plan to translate and localize InviOcean for as many languages as possible.
One by one, we’ll make the space wider — and make sure no one is left behind.
