After installing Unigram on your computer, you may need to customize the application to suit your needs and preferences. In this article, we will explore the key points of Unigram’s navigation menu and the contents of the settings section.

Main Menu’s Description

The first thing that a screen reader will announce when you launch Unigram is the “Open Navigation Menu” option. This is the application’s main menu, designed to closely mimic the official Telegram client for Android.

Here, the “Open Navigation Menu” option corresponds to the “Menu” button on the device’s touch panel and can be activated simply by pressing the spacebar.

Show Accounts

The first button in the menu is “Show Accounts.” To understand its purpose, you can use the “Space” key that opens a list of the following options:

  • Your Telegram profile name or phone number;
  • “Add Account.”

If you have multiple Telegram accounts and want to switch between them using Unigram, you can use this button to add your other accounts.

Other Navigation Menu Items

Before diving directly into settings, let’s take a look at the other items available in the “Navigation Menu” by using the “Up” and “Down” arrows on your keyboard:

  • “My Stories” enables you to view your own stories, similar to how stories work in Instagram and Snapchat;
  • “Favorites” enables you to save important contacts or messages in a separate chat for quick access and convenient organization;
  • “Chats” is a tab where you can manage and view the list of all your chats and dialogues (essentially making it the program’s main window);
  • “Contacts” is a tab where you can manage your Telegram contact list;
  • “Calls” is a tab where you can manage your voice and video call history;
  • “Settings” is the section where you can configure and personalize the app with various options and functions;
  • “Telegram Features” provides information about new and exciting Telegram features, as well as guides or tips for using them;
  • “New” will redirect you to a Telegram channel with information about Unigram’s latest updates and features. Please note that said information will be presented in English.

Now, let us go to the settings window. Select the “Settings” option and press the “Space” key.

Next, press the “Tab” key and navigate through the window’s items. Here you can:

  • Search the settings;
  • Change your profile picture;
  • Access the “Edit Profile” list.

Here, the word “list” is included intentionally, as it represents a list with categories of various application settings. To choose a specific category, use the “Up” and “Down” arrows, just like you did in the main navigation menu. Let us see which categories are included in this list:

  • Edit Profile;
  • Appearance;
  • Privacy;
  • Sounds and Notifications;
  • Data and Storage;
  • Power Saving;
  • Chat Folders;
  • Devices;
  • Language;
  • Advanced Settings.

To navigate to the selected category, press the “Tab” key and position your selection on the button with the chosen category’s title, located right after the list, then press “Enter.”
